TOAB Agragami Oikkojot hosts ‘Sufi Night & Dinner’ ahead of election

TOAB Agragami Oikkojot, a panel contesting the upcoming election of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), hosted a special event titled “Sufi Night & Dinner” on Saturday at a convention hall in Nayapaltan, Dhaka.


According to a press release, the event brought together TOAB members, tourism stakeholders and industry professionals in an atmosphere of cultural harmony and professional unity ahead of the association's election.


Beginning in the evening, the programme featured soulful Sufi music, informal networking sessions and a dinner gathering. Participants exchanged views on the current state of the tourism industry and discussed opportunities and challenges facing the sector in the years ahead.


Speaking at the event, Panel Chief and Presidential Candidate Dr. Taslim Amin Shovon, along with other panel members, stressed the importance of building a strong, united and sustainable tourism industry. They emphasized the need for experienced leadership, transparency and collective efforts to advance Bangladesh's tourism sector.


Representatives of TOAB Agragami Oikkojot said the country's tourism industry is currently at a crucial stage where ethical leadership, accountability and inclusive participation are essential for long-term growth. They reiterated their commitment to working for industry development and strengthening cooperation among stakeholders.


The organizers described the gathering as more than a social event, saying it served as an important platform for fostering stronger relationships within the tourism community. Ahead of the TOAB election, they said the programme also carried a message of unity and collaboration for the greater interest of the industry.


At the conclusion of the event, members of TOAB Agragami Oikkojot expressed gratitude to all participants for their presence and support. They also sought continued cooperation from stakeholders in strengthening Bangladesh's tourism industry through the upcoming TOAB election.


Moderated by senior journalist Pranab Saha, Chief Editor of TravelBangla.com, the event was attended by several prominent figures from the tourism sector, including Toufiq Uddin Ahmed, former TOAB President and Group Chairman of Galaxy Bangladesh; Faridul Haque, former TOAB President and Chairman of InnoGlobe; Sayed Ghulam Mohammad, President of the Bangladesh Outbound Tour Operators Association (BOTOA); Sayed Ghulam Qadir, Chief Editor of Travel Canvas; and Rezaul Ekram (Razu), Founder President of BOTOA and Executive Director of the Bangladesh Foundation for Tourism Development (BFTD). TOAB members and other tourism stakeholders were also present.
