One foreign national was killed and another person injured when two helicopters collided while landing at a helipad in Pheriche, in Nepal's Everest region, on Tuesday morning, according to Nepali officials and media reports.

The accident occurred at around 8:11 am at the helipad in Pheriche, Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality-4, Solukhumbu district. According to an initial Nepal Police report, Fishtail Air and Dynasty Air operated the helicopters.

Police Inspector Mausam Tamang of the Solukhumbu District Police Office confirmed that a foreign national died and another person was injured. Deputy Superintendent of Police Suraj Pandey, an Armed Police Force officer in Solukhumbu, said the injured person's nationality had not been confirmed.

Gyanendra Bhul, information officer at the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), said the rotor blades of the two helicopters struck each other during landing. Pandey said other details, including the number of people aboard the two helicopters, had not been confirmed.

No fire broke out after the collision, and a Prabhu Air helicopter airlifted the injured passenger to Lukla for initial treatment. Police said the cause of the accident had not been determined.
