US Embassy warns student visa holders about their responsibilities

The United States Embassy in Dhaka has issued a public advisory urging Bangladeshi students studying in the United States to strictly adhere to the terms of their student visas, warning that violations could result in visa cancellation and long-term immigration consequences.

The warning, posted Saturday on the embassy's verified Facebook page, stated that students who drop out of their academic programmes, habitually skip classes, or withdraw from their course of study without formally notifying their institution risk having their student visa revoked.

The statement further noted that such violations may render affected individuals ineligible for US visas in the future, a consequence that could carry major repercussions for those seeking academic, professional, or immigration pathways to the United States.

"Always adhere to the terms of your visa and maintain your student status to avoid any issues," the Embassy stated in its advisory.
