The United States Embassy in Dhaka on Saturday advised people planning to travel to the United States to ensure they have sufficient financial resources to cover their expenses, including unexpected travel disruptions or medical emergencies.
In a message posted on its verified Facebook page, the embassy said travellers should be prepared to pay their own way during their stay in the United States.
“If you're planning travel to the United States, make sure you have the financial means to pay your own way—including any travel disruptions or medical emergencies that could arise,” the embassy said in the post.
It also warned that misuse of public benefits funded by American taxpayers could lead to long-term consequences.
“Abusing U.S. taxpayer-funded benefits may have permanent consequences that make you ineligible to travel, study, or work in the United States in the future,” the embassy added.
For Bangladeshi travelers, the United States remains a significant destination, whether they are students, tourists, or professionals seeking short-term visits or longer-term opportunities.
