Egyptian carrier AIRCAIRO has signed a firm order for 15 Airbus A320neo aircraft, the manufacturer announced at the El Alamein International Airshow 2026 on Tuesday.

The deal marks AIRCAIRO's first direct aircraft ownership agreement, adding to its existing leased Airbus fleet as part of the airline's long-term growth strategy, according to Airbus.

AIRCAIRO has expanded from seven aircraft five years ago to a fleet of more than 45 today, and the airline aims to grow that fleet to over 130 aircraft by 2034. Airbus said the new order will give AIRCAIRO the capacity, flexibility and operational efficiency to expand connectivity across its domestic, regional and international networks.

"This agreement represents a natural next step in AIRCAIRO's growth," said Hussein Sherif, Chairman and CEO of AIRCAIRO. "Combining owned aircraft with our leased fleet gives us greater operational flexibility and financial efficiency as we scale up. The A320neo will provide the capacity needed to expand our network, serve the growing demand for travel to and from Egypt, and support the country's aviation and tourism sectors in close partnership with Airbus."

Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus Executive Vice President of Sales for the Commercial Aircraft business, said the order reflects the airline's confidence in the aircraft type. "This commitment highlights the strength of our partnership and AIRCAIRO's confidence in the A320neo to expand connectivity between Egypt and key international destinations," he said.

According to Airbus, the A320 Family is the world's most-ordered single-aisle aircraft line, with more than 20,200 orders globally. The family includes the A321neo, its largest variant. Airbus says the aircraft offers at least 20 percent fuel savings and lower carbon emissions compared with the previous generation of single-aisle jets.
