AVIET Technic–HANSA Aviation Limited has completed an urgent aircraft-on-ground (AOG) recovery operation for a Philippines Airlines aircraft at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) after the aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in Dhaka due to a technical problem.

The Dash 8-Q400, operated by PAL Express, landed at HSIA on July 17 while flying from Hanoi, Vietnam, to Allahabad, India. The aircraft required an urgent windshield replacement following the technical issue.

AVIET-HANSA provided local technical and logistical support for the recovery, including customs clearance, transportation, airport access, technical manpower, tooling and ground support equipment, according to the company.

The required materials and technical support were arranged despite operational and logistical challenges, allowing the windshield replacement to be completed successfully.

The aircraft departed Dhaka safely on August 5, ending the recovery operation that continued for nearly three weeks from July 17.

AVIET-HANSA said the operation demonstrated its ability to mobilise and coordinate urgent AOG support for international airlines under demanding circumstances.

The company said the successful recovery would strengthen its capacity to provide AOG, technical and aviation support services to international airlines operating in Bangladesh and create opportunities for further cooperation with overseas airline partners.
