Bangladesh exhibits its products at the Melbourne Global Sourcing Expo

At Melbourne, Australia's International Convention and Exhibition Centre, the three-day "Global Sourcing Expo Melbourne-2025" got underway today.

According to a press release, the Bangladesh High Commission in Australia is spearheading this international exhibition, in which a total of twelve Bangladeshi institutions are taking part.

With support from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), eleven of the twelve participating companies are ready-made garment (RMG) manufacturers and suppliers.

Apart from the RMG industry, a Bangladeshi organization that specializes in jute products is also participating in the trade show.

The Bangladeshi High Commissioner to Australia, F M Borhan Uddin, officially opened the exhibition activities for Bangladeshi export goods.

The Ministry of Commerce's Joint Secretary Nahid Afroze, the EPB's Director of Fairs and Exhibitions Mahmudul Hasan, and Commercial Counselor Roni Chakma were also in attendance.

The Global Sourcing Expo is a significant international trade show that brings together about 600 suppliers and manufacturers from 20 different countries.

Australia hosts these international trade shows twice a year in Melbourne and Sydney. The occasion serves as a vital forum for suppliers, manufacturers, importers, and exporters to showcase their goods, investigate new markets, and build relationships.

The sources emphasized Bangladesh's strategic reliance on the Australian market. There is currently A$5 billion in bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Australia.

About 93% of Bangladesh's total export goods are ready-made clothing, which makes up the great majority of the country's exports to Australia.

Right now, Australia's 23rd-largest trading partner is Bangladesh.
