Bangladesh’s hotels, resorts, and tourism businesses have won 22 awards at the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2026, according to the United Tourism Stakeholders Society of Bangladesh (UTSSOB), which coordinated the country’s participation.
The awards span luxury, business, beach, heritage, boutique, and budget hotels, as well as food and beverage, travel agencies, corporate social responsibility, and professional leadership, UTSSOB said in a press release.
Four of the 22 awards carried a gold designation. Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan won the Best Promotion Campaign, FARS Hotel & Resorts won the Leading Budget Hotel, and The Peninsula Chittagong won the Nishan Seneviratne Best CSR Programme. Alamgir Hossain of Platinum Grand by SHELTECH was named South Asia’s Best GM.
Hyatt Place Dhaka Uttara was named South Asia’s Best New Hotel/Resort.
HM Hakim Ali, chair of SATA Bangladesh and president of UTSSOB, described the wins as “a matter of great pride for our entire tourism and hospitality industry.” He said regional platforms such as SATA help showcase Bangladesh’s destinations and encourage higher service standards. He added that stronger cooperation among stakeholders, continued investment in service quality, and a commitment to sustainable tourism would help the country realise its full tourism potential.
UTSSOB said its role was to give Bangladesh’s tourism and hospitality industry a platform before the wider South Asian tourism community and to promote cooperation among stakeholders.

The 2026 gala and awards ceremony was scheduled for October 7 to 8 in the Maldives, with Visit Maldives as the official destination partner.
The organisers said nearly 1,000 nominations were received this year, and two new individual categories, Outstanding Chef and Outstanding Young Hotelier (Under 40), were introduced. Source: South Asian Travel Awards (southasiantravelawards.com).
