BOESL warns job seekers of SMS fraud ring

The Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Limited (BOESL) has warned prospective overseas job seekers about fraud rings using personal or unauthorised mobile numbers to send SMS messages with links aimed at defrauding candidates of money.

In a message posted on its verified Facebook page on Monday, BOESL said the fraudsters have been attempting to scam candidates seeking to go abroad for work by sharing various links through text messages sent from personal or illegal numbers.

The organisation clarified that all official SMS messages from BOESL are sent only under the sender ID "BOESL." It said it never sends messages or links from personal or ordinary mobile numbers regarding jobs, registration, candidate selection, or requests for payment.

BOESL specifically urged all prospective job seekers not to respond to any SMS, link, or payment request received from unfamiliar numbers.

The organisation called on the public to stay alert and take precautions to protect themselves from falling victim to fraud.
