An intoxicated passenger caused chaos on an AirAsia flight after stripping to his underwear and attempting to jump off the aircraft, according to viral video footage.

Incident occurred aboard an Airbus 320 on 29th January. Passenger became agitated approximately 15 minutes before landing and began storming up and down the aisle.

Fellow traveller Piaporn Chamsrio told Viral Press she had never encountered anything like this despite flying hundreds of times.

“I was sitting about two rows away from him, and the smell of alcohol was very strong. I was about to vomit,” Chamsrio said.

Bearded passenger stripped down to reveal his sunburned torso and demanded to be let off the aircraft. Flight attendants ordered him to sit down, but he refused. Video shows the man standing in the aisle wearing only black boxers, ranting while crew members and passengers looked on in shock.

When the plane landed, the man barged through the open door onto mobile passenger stairs before tumbling down the steps. He reportedly injured his leg while trying to flee but attempted to crawl under a vehicle to evade capture.

Authorities apprehended the passenger and loaded him onto a ground crew pickup truck. Airport employees reported he was detained and questioned on charges including endangering an aircraft, resisting crew and causing a public disturbance.

Chamsrio expressed sympathy for crew and passengers. “I have sympathy for everyone on the plane except this man. Enough is enough with this kind of behavior,” she said.

Passenger was reportedly Russian, and the flight was travelling from Cam Ranh, Vietnam, to Bangkok, Thailand.

Similar incidents have occurred previously, including an unidentified man who disrobed at Boston Logan International Airport's JetBlue terminal in August last year.
