Emirates SkyCargo has expanded its digital booking network by integrating its cargo products and services with Pelicargo, an online airfreight procurement and booking platform, the company said in a press release issued on Friday.
The cargo division of Dubai-based Emirates said it had become the first Middle Eastern carrier to establish application programming interface (API) connectivity with Pelicargo, enabling customers to make immediate bookings through the platform.
The move comes as Emirates SkyCargo reports a growing shift among US-based freight customers toward digital booking channels. According to the company, demand for online services such as its proprietary eSkyCargo platform and third-party marketplaces has increased over the past year, while manual transactions have declined.
By joining Pelicargo, a platform with a strong footprint in the United States, Emirates SkyCargo said it expects to broaden access to thousands of freight forwarding customers while offering round-the-clock booking capabilities and greater operational flexibility.
“The digital solutions that we have deployed globally have made a huge impact on the way we operate—from faster exchanges of critical information to more streamlined bookings,” said Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo.
He said the partnership with Pelicargo represented the next phase of the carrier’s digitalisation strategy in the US market, adding that technology would continue to support operational efficiency and customer service as Emirates SkyCargo expands.
Pelicargo Co-Founder and President Jon Acquaviva described the collaboration as aligned with both companies’ focus on customer-centered, digitally connected logistics services.
“We share a common vision: putting customers at the center and delivering locally relevant, digitally connected solutions that make air cargo faster and more accessible,” Acquaviva said.
Emirates SkyCargo said its five principal cargo offerings are now available on Pelicargo, including temperature-controlled services for perishables and pharmaceuticals as well as products for urgent and general cargo shipments.
The integration marks Emirates SkyCargo’s fourth digital marketplace partnership after cargo.one, CargoAi, and WebCargo, reflecting a broader trend in the airfreight industry toward digital booking systems that offer real-time access to flight schedules, rates, cargo capacity, and instant reservations.
For airline cargo operators and freight forwarders, increased digital connectivity is expected to streamline logistics planning and reduce dependence on manual booking processes, particularly in high-demand markets such as the United States.
Industry analysts say wider adoption of digital freight marketplaces could further reshape cargo operations, enabling faster transaction processing and greater transparency across global supply chains as airlines seek to improve efficiency and customer access.
