Bangladesh Ambassador to Libya Major General Md Habib Ullah recently held a meeting with Major General Abdullah Al-Tarabulsi, Director General of Libya's Public Security and Security Checkpoints Authority, to discuss the safety and welfare of Bangladeshi nationals in the country. 

The meeting also touched on matters of mutual interest between the two sides, according to the statement. The counsellor (labour) of the embassy and senior officials of the Public Security Authority were also present.

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Libya said in a statement on Sunday.

At the outset of the meeting, the director general welcomed the ambassador and briefed him on his authority's ongoing efforts to prevent irregular migration, ensure public safety, and maintain law and order, the statement said.

The ambassador thanked the Libyan authorities for their cooperation in ensuring the safety and welfare of Bangladeshi citizens. 

He particularly expressed gratitude for the security authority's role in the rescue of 31 abducted Bangladeshi nationals and in ensuring their safety, according to the statement.

Both sides agreed to continue regular information sharing, close communication, and mutual cooperation to ensure the security and welfare of Bangladeshi nationals, the statement said. 

The two sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest and expressed their commitment to further strengthening such communication and cooperation in the future.
