'Govt taking steps to make aviation and tourism more people-friendly'

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam said today that the government is taking a range of effective measures to modernize the country's civil aviation and tourism sectors, making them more efficient and public-friendly.

She said several initiatives have already been implemented to ensure hassle-free, high-quality air travel services for Bangladeshi expatriates, adding that these efforts will continue on an ongoing basis.

The minister made the remarks while inaugurating the Rath Jatra of Sri Sri Jagannath at the premises of the Sri Sri Anandamoyee Kalibari Temple in Manikganj, according to a press release.

Speaking at the event, she said, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the present government is working tirelessly to build a non-discriminatory, peaceful, and developed Bangladesh. Through the implementation of various people-centric development initiatives, we remain committed to making the country more prosperous and progressive."

Extending her greetings to Hindu devotees on the occasion of the Rath Jatra, she added, "It is because of your trust, love, and support that I am in this position today. I seek the cooperation of people from all communities--Hindus and Muslims alike--in building a safer and more developed Manikganj for everyone."
