Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) today reduced Jet A-1
(jet fuel) price by Taka 21.63 and $0.1421 per litre for domestic and
international airlines respectively.
According to the regulatory commission circular issued today, the price
of Jet A-1 fuel was reduced by Tk.21.63 per litre to Tk. 205.45 from Tk.227.08.
Besides, the BERC also reduced the price for international airlines by
$0.1421 per litre to $1.3385 from $1.4806, it said.
According to the notification, the new pricing would come into effect
from 12 midnight leading to May 8.
The BERC announced the price of jet fuel for the first time in May 2025
and said that jet fuel price would be adjusted with the international market
every month.
“If the price in the international market increases, it will be
increased in Bangladesh, and if it decreases, it will be decreased in local
market. Earlier, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) usually fixes the price
from time to time,” according to a BERC official.
The regulatory agency said considering the Platts Rate from April 5 to
May 4 on an average, it reduced the jet fuel price for May 2026.
The BERC held a public hearing today in accordance with Sections 22 (Kha)
and 34 of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003.
