Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced a next-generation version of its KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system, along with high-speed Starlink connectivity, the airline said on October 22.
The new KrisWorld will be introduced on SIA’s 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 long-haul and A350-900 ultra-long-range (ULR) aircraft, which will progressively enter service from 2027, and on its upcoming Boeing 777-9 aircraft, according to a press release. Features vary by aircraft and cabin class.
The system has 4K high-resolution touchscreens, with OLED screens on selected aircraft, spatial audio, active noise-cancelling headphones and Bluetooth pairing for passengers’ own headphones, the airline said. It also has a redesigned interface with improved search and filtering, a mini-player that lets passengers keep watching while browsing, and a sidebar that shows flight information.
SIA said First Class screens will measure 32 inches, and Business Class screens up to 22 inches. On the 777-9, Premium Economy screens will be up to 16 inches and Economy up to 13 inches. First Class passengers will get Bang & Olufsen Bluetooth headphones, and Economy passengers wired earphones, it said.
More than 2,500 entertainment options will be available, including content from Apple TV, BBC, CNA, HBO Max, iQIYI and Paramount+, refreshed monthly, the airline said. A new wellness planner offers sleep and meditation tracks, breathing exercises and in-seat stretches. A Kids’ Mode offers a curated selection for young travellers. Passengers can log in with a KrisFlyer account to get recommendations and resume programmes from earlier flights.
SIA will introduce Starlink satellite internet progressively from early 2027 on its Airbus A380, A350-900 long-haul and A350-900ULR aircraft, the release said. Passengers in Suites, First Class and Business Class, as well as PPS Club members and KrisFlyer members in Premium Economy and Economy, will continue to get unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi on Starlink-equipped aircraft.
Yeoh Phee Teik, SIA’s Senior Vice President Customer Experience, said passengers wanted more choice and flexibility in how they spend their time on board. He said the new system makes it “easier to discover and enjoy content,” and to stay in touch with loved ones.
The airline said the changes are part of a wider new travel experience, including new long-haul cabin products, dining and amenities, which will be unveiled in Singapore in November 2026.
