Syrian Airlines has launched a new visual identity and operating plan, aiming to double its fleet to 12 aircraft and serve 25 destinations by the end of the year.

The Syrian Aviation Holding Company and the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport launched the new identity at Damascus International Airport on Monday, 5 October, according to the Syrian state news agency SANA and Türkiye's state-run Anadolu agency. The company said the first aircraft carrying the new livery has entered service.

The carrier resumed and expanded international flights this year after years of restricted operations. SANA said it began in 2026 with three aircraft and nine destinations.

Anwar Akkad, chief executive of the Syrian Aviation Holding Company, said the operational fleet now stands at six aircraft, and the company plans to double it by the end of the year, SANA reported.

SANA said the airline has recently added Amsterdam, Vienna, Copenhagen, and Moscow. Destinations currently served also include Dubai, Riyadh, and Medina.

The company said a new reservation system built to international standards will start in early November. The new website is already running, while a mobile app and self-service platforms are under development.

Omar Hosari, head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, said the new identity was more than a logo or colours and must be matched by a "real change in performance", according to SANA. Akkad described the launch as a key moment for a new phase.

SANA said the plan rests on six priorities: digital transformation, safety and quality, expanding the route network, renewing the fleet and improving passenger experience, transparency and partnerships, and investment in staff. Recent recruitment included about 50 pilots, 35 engineers, 60 cabin crew, and 130 administrative specialists, it added.

Neither body disclosed the cost of the plan. No delivery dates were announced for the additional aircraft, and the remaining destinations have not been confirmed.
