The United States is securing ​military and charter ‌flights to evacuate Americans from the Middle East, ​a U.S. State ​Department official said on ⁠X on Tuesday, ​adding that it was ​in contact with nearly 3,000 U.S. citizens.

In Israel, U.S. ​officials are in ​contact with about 500 Americans ‌seeking ⁠to leave, the department said in a separate statement. More ​than ​130 ⁠citizens have left already and another ​100 more are ​expected ⁠to depart on Tuesday, it said.
