325 Middle East flights planned, operated from Dhaka airport

Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (Dhaka airport) released schedule showing 325 flights planned or operated to Middle East destinations between February 28 and March 10.
On Tuesday, airport flight management released schedule showing operations to Saudi Arabia, Oman and United Arab Emirates during peak travel period. Highest number of flights operated on March 10 with 42 scheduled departures.
Saudi Arabia received maximum traffic with flights to multiple cities. Between February 28 and March 10, airline operated 183 flights to Kingdom. Muscat in Oman received 69 flights during same period, while UAE destinations including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah accounted for 73 flights.
Operations began modestly with only 6 flights on February 28 but ramped up significantly from March 4 onwards. Between March 4-10, Biman operated between 31 and 42 flights daily to accommodate surging demand.
Peak operations occurred on March 10 with 42 planned flights, comprising 20 to Saudi Arabia, 10 to Muscat and 12 to various UAE cities. Dubai received maximum UAE flights with 4 departures, followed by Sharjah with 6 and Abu Dhabi with 2.
Daily flight numbers showed steady increase throughout period. March 1 saw 20 flights, which jumped to 35 by March 4. Operations maintained between 31 and 40 daily flights from through March 5-9.
Schedule indicates careful capacity planning to meet religious travel demand during Ramadan and accommodate Bangladeshi workers returning to Gulf countries after winter holidays. Flight surge demonstrates Bangladesh’s strong connectivity with Middle East region, which hosts over 50 lakh Bangladeshi expatriate workers.
