On Monday, incident occurred at boarding bridge C-2 during routine security check of US-Bangla Airlines flight BS-381 from Dhaka to Saudi Arabia. On-duty screener identified suspicious objects in passenger’s bag through screening process.
AVSEC authorities immediately notified Department of Narcotics Control after detecting illegal drugs. Narcotics officials arrived at scene and conducted thorough search of passenger’s luggage, recovering total 4,364 Yaba tablets.
Officials completed necessary legal procedures before offloading, detaining and taking passenger into custody. Smuggling attempt was foiled due to alertness, responsibility and precise screening by on-duty screener and AVSEC members, according to Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).
