Afroza stresses airport cleanliness nationwide

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam today directed authorities to strengthen cleanliness measures at all airports to ensure passenger comfort and safety, including immediate mosquito control initiatives.
She issued the directives while addressing the ADP implementation progress review meeting for January of the 2025–26 fiscal year at the ministry’s conference room, said a ministry’s press release here.
Emphasizing improved passenger services, the minister underscored the need to maintain strict cleanliness standards across the country’s airports and instructed the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to spray mosquito repellents in and around airport facilities.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, speaking at the meeting, said the trolley shortage at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport must be resolved urgently to enhance service quality.
He stressed the importance of procuring 1,000 new trolleys at the earliest possible time.
He also called upon all stakeholders to work in a coordinated manner to ensure that passengers can travel smoothly without any form of harassment.
The minister and the state minister directed the officials concerned to complete ongoing development projects within the stipulated timeframe.
Secretary of the ministry Nasreen Jahan, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Air Vice Marshal Md. Mostafa Mahmud Siddique, and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
