Saudia, United Link host Ramadan Iftar Mehfil in Dhaka

The Bangladesh office of Saudia, in collaboration with its General Sales Agent , hosted a Ramadan Iftar Mehfil.
The event, held On Monday evening at a capital’s hotel which brought together aviation stakeholders, travel trade professionals, corporate partners, and government representatives in a spirit of unity and gratitude during the holy month of Ramadan.
Welcoming the guests, Salman A. Alali, Country Manager of Saudia Bangladesh, extended Ramadan greetings and thanked industry colleagues, partners, agents, and corporate clients for their continued collaboration and support.
He emphasized on the importance of togetherness and harmony among aviation stakeholders, noting that such gatherings strengthen professional relationships and mutual understanding within the industry.
“This blessed month gives us the opportunity to come together not only as business partners but as a family committed to the prosperity of Bangladesh’s aviation and travel sector,” he said, wishing everyone a peaceful and prosperous Ramadan.
Ahmed Yousuf Walid, Managing Director of United Link Ltd., also addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to host the Iftar during such a spiritually significant time.
He noted that the annual tradition of hosting an Iftar serves as a platform for strengthening ties among industry professionals and fostering deeper engagement with stakeholders across the aviation and tourism ecosystem.
Walid highlighted the presence and support of senior management from Saudia, travel trade partners, tourism professionals, and representatives from key government institutions.
He acknowledged the continued cooperation from various ministries of the Government of Bangladesh, including those linked to civil aviation and tourism, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh.
He also conveyed appreciation to the Royal Saudi Embassy in Bangladesh for its ongoing support and engagement.
Reflecting on Saudia’s long-standing presence in the country, Walid noted that the airline has been operating in Bangladesh since the 1980s, serving passengers for over four decades.
He emphasized that over the years, Saudia has developed strong business and personal relationships with Bangladeshi stakeholders and has consistently demonstrated its commitment, particularly during times of crisis involving Bangladeshi expatriates, Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, and travelers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and surrounding regions.
“Whenever Bangladesh faced challenges involving its citizens abroad, Saudia has often gone beyond conventional expectations to extend support,” he said, expressing personal thanks to the airline’s senior management for their responsiveness and cooperation.
Walid also acknowledged the presence of partner banks and corporate collaborators, noting that the support of financial institutions remains essential for sustaining foreign airline operations in Bangladesh.
The evening concluded with prayers, networking, and the Iftar meal, reinforcing the spirit of solidarity and partnership between Saudia, United Link Ltd., and Bangladesh’s aviation and travel community.
