Biman Bangladesh Airlines stormed into the final of the ATJFB Airlines Football Championship (AFC) 2026 with a commanding 4-0 victory over Qatar Airways in the second semifinal at the Gulshan Youth Club Field in Gulshan-2 on Saturday.

Joy opened the scoring three minutes after kick-off, finding the net at 3:31pm after the match began at 3:28pm. He doubled Biman's lead at 3:34pm as the airline took a 2-0 advantage into the break.
The forward completed his hat-trick at 3:49pm to make it 3-0 before Biman added another goal four minutes later to seal a comprehensive 4-0 win.
Joy was named man of the match. Speaking after the game, he thanked the spectators and said age was not a barrier to success, adding that regular practice could take anyone far. He also expressed hope that the tournament would be organised every year.
The victory sets up an all-Bangladeshi final between Biman Bangladesh Airlines and US-Bangla Airlines in Bangladesh's first-ever Airlines Football Championship, organised by the Aviation and Tourism Journalists' Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB).
Before that, the tournament was inaugurated on Friday by State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque in the presence of the ambassadors of Brazil and Argentina to Bangladesh.
The tournament, being held under the theme “One Sky, One Field, One Champion," brought together 16 domestic and international airlines in Bangladesh’s first premier airlines football championship.
