Emirates has opened a new Travel Store in the Bahraini capital, Manama, the airline said, as it marks 26 years of service to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The store is in Unit 15 on the ground floor of Seef Boulevard and officially opened on Oct 19, according to an Emirates press release. It covers 215 square metres. Customers can speak to travel consultants about flight bookings, itinerary planning, and Emirates Holidays packages, the airline said. The store is open from 8am to 6pm, seven days a week.
Emirates said the store has a Boeing 777 Business Class seat on display, an interactive selfie mirror, and a new queue management system.
Khalid Bel Jaflah, Emirates’ Divisional Vice President for Commercial Operations, Middle East and North Africa, led the opening. Other guests named in the release included Sheikh Khalid bin Humood bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Governor of the Capital Governorate; UAE Ambassador to Bahrain Fahad Mohammed Salem Kardous Al Ameri; Husain Ahmed Al Shuail, Undersecretary for Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs; and Sara Ahmed Buhiji, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.
“Bahrain holds an important place in the Emirates network,” Bel Jaflah said. He said the store reflects the airline’s continued investment in the Bahraini market and its aim to improve the customer experience at the point of booking.
Emirates began flying to Bahrain on Jan 25, 2000. Since then it has operated more than 52,600 flights and carried around 8.3 million passengers between Bahrain and Dubai, the release said. It currently operates 14 weekly flights on the route, using Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 aircraft.
Dhaka is among the main markets mentioned in the release. It said travellers from Bahrain can connect via Dubai to destinations including Dhaka, Manila, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Chennai. The key markets for passengers travelling into Bahrain include Dubai, Dhaka, Manila, Thiruvananthapuram, Bangkok, and Kochi, the release said.
