Lufthansa Group airlines have opened bookings for their Summer 2027 schedule, which the group described as its most comprehensive expansion since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the company said.
According to a press release, Lufthansa, Discover Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), Brussels Airlines, Edelweiss, and ITA Airways are all adding services. Eurowings will publish its summer schedule later, it said. The group said the focus is on the Americas and Asia, with new nonstop links to Edmonton in Canada, Columbus and Phoenix in the United States, and Caracas in Venezuela, plus two new Japanese destinations from Frankfurt, Nagoya, and Tokyo-Narita.
“The world moves a little closer for Lufthansa Group customers,” said Stefan Kreuzpainter, the group’s Senior Vice President of Commercial Customer Offer. He said the expansion is a promise of “even more choice, even better connectivity, and even shorter journeys.”
Lufthansa will fly from Frankfurt to Columbus, Ohio, three times a week from May 5, 2027, using a Boeing 787-9. The airline said it will be the first and only European carrier with a nonstop service to the city. A daily Frankfurt-Tokyo-Narita service starts on March 28, and Frankfurt-Nagoya resumes on March 29, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
From Munich, Lufthansa will start flights to Phoenix on August 3, 2027, three times a week with an Airbus A350-900, the release said.
For South Asian travellers, the group said Lufthansa will add a second seasonal Munich-Delhi service from March 28 with an A350-900 and add frequencies to Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai. SWISS will keep its new Zurich-Bengaluru route, with five weekly flights, in the summer schedule, it said.
Elsewhere in the group, Discover Airlines will launch its first nonstop Frankfurt-Edmonton service on June 1, 2027, with three weekly flights. ITA Airways will start Rome-Caracas on March 30, 2027, with three weekly flights on A330-900 aircraft, it said. Brussels Airlines will add a five-times-weekly Brussels-Cairo service, according to the release.
