A network glitch disrupted check-in and boarding at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on Tuesday evening, affecting IndiGo and Air India passengers, according to a report by Gulf News citing Hindustan Times.
The disruption began at around 7.05pm local time and lasted about 50 minutes, the report said, citing airport sources. It slowed check-in procedures and boarding scanner operations. Gate changes and crew delays added to the confusion in departure halls, the sources said.
Check-in was not halted completely. Airport teams switched to manual processing under established protocols to keep essential services running while they worked on the fault, the sources said.
A CSMIA spokesperson said the airport had experienced a temporary network disruption and that teams used manual processing to limit inconvenience to passengers. The spokesperson said that “no impact on airport and flight operations has been recorded” so far.
Passengers were advised to follow airline updates and check their boarding gates for changes, according to the report.
The report did not give the cause of the glitch, and it did not include comments from IndiGo or Air India.
