Saudi Arabia's national carrier Riyadh Air has opened ticket sales for flights between Riyadh and Jakarta, which will begin on November 16, the airline said in a statement on Monday.
Jakarta is the 16th destination Riyadh Air has put on sale. The airline said more destinations will be announced in the coming days and weeks, and that it aims to build a network of more than 100 destinations by 2030.
The service will run three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, between King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh (RUH) and Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta (CGK), using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
Flight RX0869 will leave Riyadh at 10:50 pm and arrive in Jakarta at 12:00 pm the next day, local time. The return flight, RX0870, will depart Jakarta at 3:00 pm and land in Riyadh at 8:15 pm, local time. The airline said schedules may change and advised passengers to check its website.
"Opening ticket sales for Jakarta marks another important milestone," said Riyadh Air Chief Executive Tony Douglas. He said the route would strengthen ties between the two G20 nations and support business, tourism, and religious travel, while giving Indonesian travellers access to the Kingdom and the airline's wider network.
Trade and travel links
Riyadh Air said bilateral trade between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia reached US$6.6 billion in 2025 and US$2.6 billion in the first half of 2026. It said automotive trade alone exceeds US$1.7 billion a year. The airline said the figures point to strong corporate travel demand. It also said the route would serve government, diplomatic and executive travellers, and offer a new gateway for visitors from Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim-majority country.
Onboard and booking
The Boeing 787-9 aircraft will have Business Elite, Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins, the airline said. Tickets are sold through the Riyadh Air app, its website and travel agencies. Members of its loyalty programme, Sfeer, get a best offer guarantee and free onboard Wi-Fi, it said.
