The Chargé d'Affaires of the High Commission of Singapore to Bangladesh, Mitchel Lee, met with Mohammad Rashedul Haque, Managing Director of Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Limited (BOESL), on Wednesday to discuss the deployment of skilled workers to Singapore and other bilateral issues, according to a BOESL statement.

Haque also serves as International Affairs Secretary of the National Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party.

The meeting, held on August 19, 2026, included discussions on a range of issues of mutual interest between Bangladesh and Singapore, the statement said. Noor Ahmed, General Manager (Overseas Employment) of BOESL, was also present.

Topics discussed in detail included the deployment of skilled and trained workers from Bangladesh to Singapore, expansion of the labour market, skills development for workers, and labour migration management, according to BOESL.

The discussion emphasised increasing the participation of Bangladesh's skilled workforce in Singapore's labour market, creating new employment opportunities for Bangladeshi workers, and further strengthening labour migration and mutual cooperation between the two countries.
