Bangladesh, European Union sign PCA to deepen ties

Bangladesh and the
European Union (EU) have signed the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA)
in Brussels, marking a significant step towards strengthening comprehensive
bilateral engagement across multiple sectors.
Secretary (East and West)
of the foreign ministry Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam and Deputy Managing Director (Asia
& Pacific) of the European Union Paola Pampaloni signed on behalf of their
respective side, the state media BSS reports.
Foreign minister Dr.
Khalilur Rahman, prime minister’s foreign affairs adviser Humayun Kabir, and
High Representative and Vice President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas
were present at the ceremony.
The PCA is expected to
provide a structured framework for enhancing cooperation between Bangladesh and
the European Union in areas of mutual interest.
