Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan has launched a blood donation campaign for thalassemia patients as part of IHG Giving for Good Month 2026.
The initiative, titled “Drops of Hope”, was organised in collaboration with the Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation, bringing together employees of the hotel to donate blood for patients who require regular transfusions.
According to the hotel, nearly 50% of its total employees came forward to participate in the blood donation initiative. The donations could potentially benefit between 60 and 70 thalassemia patients, it said.
Regular blood transfusions are essential for many patients living with thalassemia, making a continued supply of donated blood critical to their treatment.
Niaj Masud Rahat, Officer – Donor Relations and Partnership Development at the Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation, welcomed the collaboration and the participation of the hotel's employees.
He said regular blood transfusions were a critical requirement for thalassemia patients and that initiatives encouraging voluntary blood donation could support patients and their families.
The blood donation camp marks the beginning of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan’s activities under IHG Giving for Good Month 2026. Throughout September, the hotel plans to undertake further initiatives focusing on community engagement, education, wellbeing and sustainability.
IHG Giving for Good Month is a global initiative of IHG Hotels & Resorts that encourages employees to participate in volunteering, fundraising and other social-impact activities in their communities.
