Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan wins gold at South Asian Travel Awards
Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan has won the Gold Award for Best Promotion Campaign at the 10th South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2026, the hotel said in a press release.
The awards were held at Barceló Nasandhura Malé in the Maldives. The hotel was selected from entrants across six South Asian countries: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
The hotel said the award recognised a year of campaigns that linked business goals with sustainability, social responsibility, guest engagement and innovation.
Among them was RRR (Reduce. Reuse. Revive.), in which 3,688 single-use plastic bottles were turned into a Christmas tree to raise awareness about plastic reduction. The hotel said the campaign aligned with IHG’s Journey to Tomorrow sustainability commitment.
Another campaign, Bring People Together, focused on building connections and shared experiences. Under Giving for Good, the hotel ran initiatives including blood donation, community cleanliness drives, support for Mojar School, WOW Market, and Meaningful Marathon 2.0. The marathon benefited the Odommo Bangladesh Foundation.
The hotel also highlighted BEAST by MK, which it describes as Dhaka’s first global travel-themed rooftop dining destination. Its Passport Menu draws on cuisines from across continents.
Karthi VK, general manager of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan, said the award reflected the team’s belief in “putting people at the heart of everything we do.”
He said the recognition celebrated the creativity and collaboration of colleagues and partners and would encourage the hotel to keep making a meaningful difference through hospitality.
The 10th edition of SATA brought together the travel and hospitality industry from across South Asia to celebrate excellence and innovation.
