Embraer picks FL Technics as E-Jet service centre in Lithuania

Brazilian planemaker Embraer has named Lithuania-based FL Technics an Embraer Authorized Service Center (EASC) for E-Jets, the company said in a press release.

The authorisation covers the E170 and E190 jets operating in Lithuania, Embraer said. Services will be provided at FL Technics’ facilities in Vilnius, the capital, and Kaunas, the country’s second-largest city.

FL Technics is a global provider of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services. Embraer said the company’s experience in maintaining narrowbody aircraft would help deliver greater efficiency, faster turnaround times and optimised maintenance for E-Jet operators across Europe.

“We are pleased to welcome FL Technics to Embraer’s global network of Authorized Service Centers,” said Frank Stevens, Vice President of Global MRO Centers at Embraer Services & Support. He said the company’s maintenance capabilities and growing European presence would give E-Jet operators greater access to high-quality support.

FL Technics chief executive Saulius Bajarunas described the designation as “a strong validation” of the company’s technical capabilities, quality standards and customer-focused service model.

According to the release, the appointment builds on an existing relationship. FL Technics began offering line maintenance for Embraer aircraft in 2023 and now provides it at stations including Vilnius, Palanga, Bergen, Oslo, Trondheim, Bodø and Ålesund in Norway, Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca in Romania.

FL Technics is certified under EASA Part-145 and Part-147 and employs more than 4,000 people, the release said. It operates MRO hangars in Lithuania, Britain, Indonesia and the Dominican Republic, and is part of Avia Solutions Group, which describes itself as the world’s largest ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance) provider.

Embraer, founded in 1969 and headquartered in Brazil, says it has delivered more than 9,000 aircraft.
