Sweden ends consular representation of Poland for Schengen visas in Bangladesh

The Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka announced on Wednesday that it will cease to represent Poland in matters related to Schengen visa applications, marking a shift in how Bangladeshi nationals seeking entry to the European travel zone through Poland must process their documents.

According to the notice, the last day for applicants to submit a Poland-bound Schengen visa application through VFS Global Sweden — the outsourcing partner currently handling Swedish and Polish consular work in Dhaka — will be 15 April 2026. After that date, the Swedish mission will no longer accept or process applications on Poland's behalf.

"If Poland is the main destination of the trip to the Schengen area, you will need to follow the updated procedures for applying directly through Polish authorities," the notice said.
