Visit Kanchenjunga from Bangladesh!
Every year, the majestic beauty of Kanchenjunga can be seen with the naked eye from different parts of Tetulia, a border upazila (sub-district) of Panchagarh, the northernmost district of Bangladesh. From Tetulia’s open fields and riverbanks, you can witness the breathtaking view of the snow-capped Kanchenjunga and even the hilly regions of Darjeeling. For those who haven’t had the chance to cross the border to see the Himalayas, Tetulia offers a rare opportunity to enjoy this natural wonder from Bangladesh itself. Tourists from across the country are now flocking to Panchagarh to witness Kanchenjunga, giving local tourism a new dimension.
When to Visit:
You can see Kanchenjunga only from Tetulia (the only place in Bangladesh) during October, November, and December. From the Tetulia Dak Bungalow, you can enjoy the stunning view with your naked eye. The sight of Kanchenjunga and the surrounding Himalayan peaks will surely mesmerize you.
The best times to view the mountain are: Morning: 6 AM – 10 AM , Afternoon: 4 PM – 5 PM
If the sky is clear and cloud-free, you’ll be rewarded with the dazzling sight of snow-covered peaks. The moonlit view of Kanchenjunga from Tetulia is equally magical—one of those moments you’ll cherish forever.
Other Attractions in Panchagarh
Besides Kanchenjunga, Panchagarh offers several interesting places to visit. From the historic Tetulia Dak Bungalow (built during the British period), you can even see parts of India. You’ll also find tea gardens on flat plains, unique in Bangladesh. Sitting by the Mahananda River, which marks the Bangladesh–India border, sipping tea, singing songs, and chatting with friends—these simple joys make Tetulia even more memorable. How to Get There from Dhaka
